One of my Vancouver Island Local Food Heroes

Bon Vivant on Vancouver Island recently launched a great promotion to show some love to the local food heroes of Vancouver Island. From chefs and restaurants to farmers and seafood providers, there are so many different people on the Island who make the western edge of Canada such an amazing local food mecca.

When I think of local food heroes who make a difference here, one of the first to come to mind is Jesse Jacobs, owner of Outrageous Edibles and Bedibles. A born and raised Vancouver Islander, Jesse grows a huge variety of high quality bedding plants, vegetable starters and herbs which are sold throughout the central Vancouver Island area.

Every single vegetable and herb that goes into my garden comes from Outrageous Edibles, planted in my tiny deck and garden and they provide me with a plethora of amazing local food every year. I feel so lucky to have access to such great veggie starters and I've learned so much about growing my own food from every tiny Outrageous Edibles plant that explodes with fresh vegetables throughout the year.

Thanks for working so hard to provide Vancouver Island with great quality plants to make our gardens beautiful and edible, Jesse. You are a true Vancouver Island local food hero and we're lucky to have you!

Like Outrageous Edibles and Bedibles on Facebook to keep up with all their latest news on plant starters to fill your garden this year, and keep your eye out for Jesse's plants at Qualicum Beach's Seedy Saturday on February 2 at the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre.

If you wrote an article about life we'd all reach enlightenment.

Hi would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using? I’m looking to start my own blog soon but I’m having a hard time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique. P.S Sorry for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

jangan biarkan diri kita pada status quo… harus ada pengembangan dari hari ke hari.BTW, layoutnya kok berubah-ubah, mas? Pusing aku??? :bingung

Wow, your post makes mine look feeble. More power to you!

Alexandra – Just hoping you won’t think less of me. Think MORE. Like, isn’t she hospitable. To let the little creatures of the earth inhabit her home.Or something like that.I’ll be thinking about you in October.Gotta love crop-cutting time julie gardner recently posted..

I always feel that's why you can't replace traditional illustration with photography, because you can create scenes and lighting structure that you can't really get with photos. Sadly many areas seem to be gravitating towards cropped photoshop images anyway (ex. the downturn in the use of art for movie posters/ads). Even many of the best photographers are limited to what they can capture of the physical world

You get a lot of respect from me for writing these helpful articles.

I appreciate you taking to time to contribute That's very helpful.

These topics are so confusing but this helped me get the job done.
