DinnerPartyYVR is coming back to Vancouver

March 6, 2016

The biggest, boldest, most philanthropic dinner party is coming back to Vancouver on Saturday, April 9th, 2016 with the fourth annual DinnerPartyYVR. In just over a month, Vancouver hobby chefs will open their homes, kitchens and hearts to host a simultaneous dinner party taking place all across the city.

Launched by Social Bites in 2013 and presented by Cressey Development Group, DinnerPartyYVR gives self-made home chefs the chance to share their cooking skills and love of food, and the event will be doubling in size this year with even more dinners hosted across the city. "We've seen increased demand from both hobby chefs and diners year after year," said Annika Reinhardt, co-creator of DinnerPartyYVR. "This year we have over 500 people participating across the city. Beyond a shared love for food, the vast majority of our hobby chefs report joining because they want to be part of a fun community event, and to raise funds for their chosen charity."

Are you craving some saucy BBQ, maybe a taste of seasonal BC cooking or a selection of the seafood we're famous for here on the west coast? There's a dinner choice for everyone and every taste, check out the list. With so many different options of where to go and what to eat at DinnerPartyYVR, guests are certainly spoiled for choice. Eclectic cuisine from around the world is being served at many home dinners - unique meals showcasing Lebanese, Egyptian, Thai, Mexican, Persian and so many others are being featured, giving guests a chance to experience unique international cuisine crafted by local hobby chefs in their Vancouver kitchens.

Seats for the DinnerPartyYVR dinners are beginning to fill up and sell out, but there are still lots of options available for all tastes (and many dietary-friendly options from gluten-free to vegan available). Every $50 dinner ticket includes a home-cooked meal made with fresh ingredients provided by Whole Foods, beverages from Serendipity Winery, Howe Sound Brewing and DRY sparkling soda.

Part of what makes DinnerPartyYVR such a great event is the way you help give back to the city when you participate as a dinner guest, as the full 100% of your ticket price is donated to the charity picked by your dinner's hobby chef hosts. The charities of choice are listed along with the menu for each dinner on the website, and include a wide variety of organizations giving back to people in need, the SPCA, community organizations and charitable initiatives that support Vancouver and BC in many different ways. DinnerPartyYVR has already donated over $30,000 to deserving charities and your ticket to the 2016 event will help make a difference to so many deserving people and organizations.

Your ticket includes also admission to the DinnerPartyYVR After Party at Maker Labs. Meet up with all the other awesome foodies who have been dining around the city to share tales of the epic meals you've just eaten, and enjoy desserts, live music and entertainment.
